Greetings Everyone,
I’m Ms. Cassandra and here’s a little glimpse into my life. First of all I have been teaching at MIT for about four (4) years and I totally enjoy what I do. Some of my proudest moments were the last two years when I represented MIT and served as a Math Coach for our Alliance-Wide Math Field Day. My two teams won first (1st) and second (2nd) place representing the seventh grade in 2019. Also for 2018, I was the Math Coach for MIT for the sixth grade and our two teams won first (1st) and third (3rd) place for at the Alliance-Wide Math Field Day.
Also, I have been a Teacher for Youth Entrepreneurs for the past year and we had two successful Market Days where 7th and 8th grade students generated more than $1,900.00 in sales for products and foods. I was so proud of them. In fact, our CEO Administrator, Mr. Tiongco stated "Your students have generated more money than our parent fundraisers." That's quite a compliment to our dedicated and hardworking and Youth Entrepreneur (YE) students. They are already entrepreneurs for the future.
Undoubtedly, there are several things that I enjoy doing. I’m an ardent pet lover and animal rights advocate.
The climate in Southern California affords me such wonderful advantages. I’m a foodie and I thoroughly enjoy dining al fresco with my family and friends. Hiking, beaching, practicing yoga, tai chi, going to outdoor concerts and plays are frequent occurrences. Since I’ve been singing since middle school, the soundtrack of my life is jazz music. However, my repertoire also includes opera (which I first learned about in the 5th grade). Also, classical, contemporary gospel, and show tunes ride high on my playlist.
I tremendously enjoy teaching and mentoring 6th graders. They are super cool! I look forward to meeting you and getting to know you. Being an educator is quite rewarding in that I get an opportunity to “build people.” Mentoring, coaching and encouraging others toward their goals are a huge priority both professionally and personally.
My priorities are woven throughout my lifestyle. I’ve been a sponsor of girls in Zimbabwe and Sierra Leone, Africa for over 20 years. I also serve in my local church community. As my former third grade student, Ryan commented “Service is our rent on this planet.” That is indeed true. My question to you is “How are you now serving others in your life and spheres of influence?”
